Has the knowledge to utilise sports and exercise principles to optimise preparation and injury prevention programmes.
In my treatments I am able to offer excellent pieces of equipment like Ultrasound and TEN’s to help with your recovery….
What is Ultrasound?
Ultrasound is simply high frequency sounds waves above the range that we can hear. It is applied to the body from the 'head' of an ultrasound machine. A gel is used to help the waves travel into the body rather than be reflected off the skin.
What are the benefits of ultrasound?
Increased blood supply, which promotes healing.
Produces a pain killing effect which can reduce muscle spasm, and promote normal function.
Softens fibrous tissues and scar tissue, which are formed during healing.
How is it used?
The therapist will apply a little gel to the skin and place the head of the ultrasound machine on the skin. Usually it will be moved in small circles. Treatment time can vary according to the injury but is usually a few minutes.
What is TEN’s?
(Trans-cutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)
Tens is a highly affective safe non-evasive drug free treatment for pain that is used world-wide. The Tens programme will ease and relieve pain. It works by blocking the pain signal being carried to the brain. If the signal is blocked then the pain is not perceived. Then the body releases natural chemicals to suppress the pain.
Also full rehabilitation advice will be given to injuries after treatment and guidance on what to do next.
